Omschrijving

Deze Palit XpertVision Geforce 6200 is voorzien van de 6de generatie GPU's NV43 de eerste serie en deze is identiek aan de mainstream Geforce 6600 series. Deze Geforce komt met de volledige 128-bit memory bus waardoor het geheugen en de memory controller direct aan de chipset en de GPU wordt gekoppeld en de toegangstijden en verwerking korter en sneller worden. Dat betekent dat de rendering van complete grafische beelden sneller verloopt. Deze Geforce 6200 beschikt ook over de HSI chip die standaard is bij de 6600 modellen en is eigenlijk bedoelt voor PCI-Express uitvoeringen.

De memory bus/ interface en de daaruit voortvloeiende hogere geheugen bandwijdte zijn de belangrijkste eigenschappen naast de kloksnelheid GPU en GPU architectuur. De hoeveelheid fysiek geheugen is een mindere graadmeter als het gaat om prestatie gerichte grafische kaart.
Het type geheugen /soort geheugen en de kloksnelheid zijn meer van belang als dit ook in balans is met de overige eigenschappen van grafische kaart. De meeste Geforce 6200 (entry level) grafische kaarten zijn voorzien van 256MB of 512MB DDR/ DDR2 geheugen uit marketing oogpunt, echter een RAM vergelijking van de computer gaat bij een grafische kaart niet altijd evenredig op.

Good choice for big but non-gaming DVI LCDs

Pros: Excellent choice, in terms of price/performance, for non-gaming (or low-moderate gaming) high-resolution LCD displays. DVI output works great with the Hanns G HG-281DPB 28" 1920x1200 LCD display. This card was a breeze to set up. Didn't bother with install CD. Just went to nvdia web site and grabbed latest WHQL driver for GeForce FX, 6, 7, and 8 series GPUs. (Running XP SP2). Physically installed easily into my machine. Silent passive cooling. No fan.

Cons: By today's standards, a functional but relatively low-end card for gaming.

Other Thoughts: If you have an AGP motherboard, and you're not a hard-core gamer, and you need to upgrade your video, this is a very cost-effective choice.

Nice budget card

Pros: I bought this for a friend and he loves the video card. This runs his games much better than the onboard video he was using.

Cons: This won't run the new games coming out, but it's not a problem for my friend because he doesn't game that often.

Other Thoughts: This is a nice deal for those who want a quick, budget upgrade. However, choose a better video card for a more enjoyable gaming experience.

Good card for SUSE Linux

Pros: Good support for SUSE Linux 10.0/64 bit. Haven't pushed the 3D games yet but had zero installation issues. nVidia generally has good linux support.

Another plus - this card is fanless (no noise).

Other Thoughts: I used this card as part of a 64bit hardware upgrade to run SUSE Linux 10.0/64bit. EXCELLENT results...

I researched this hardware carefully because I wanted good compatibility. SUSE 10.0 64bit is running EXCELLENTLY on it. This is the fastest and most stable machine I've ever used.

Awesome low-cost card

Pros: Low cost Works great @ 4x AGP

Other Thoughts: The only thing I ran into was when I updated the drivers from Nvidia. They overwrote the ASUS driver and caused the ASUS overclocking software to fail. Not a big deal as the Nvidia controlls are MUCH better. I strongly suggest downloading the NVidia drivers for this reason

Solid Pros: solid compatibility. felt it running smoothly--maybe i'm superstitious.

Cons: none. plays dvd movies and that was all i was looking for when buying this card.

N/A Cool, quiet, inexpensive entry-level

Comments: This card was exactly what I was looking for for my small form-factor - very short, very quiet, and very cool operating - even has temperature monitoring. Beats any other half-height card hands-down. Beats the Radeon 9550 full-height card, so I definately recommend this as the best half-height card available and probably the best low-budget card, period. Not quite up to the level of the full 6200 AGP, but that's a full height card and a lot more expensive so it's really not in the same class. This card is more in line with the Turbocache and Hypermemory stuff, but bests them in benchmarks as well and has dedicated memory.

All in all, 5 stars to native AGP 6200!!!

Comments: Works great, plays WoW. I needed the short card for a desktop. Took the panel off the front and It fit right in. Very impressive FPS from such a cheap card. Directx 9.0 also. Excellent!
